Jayadeb Nanda

Mr. Jayadeb Nanda is currently working as the Advisor to Adani Power. He is Ex-Chief Operating Officer – Operations and Maintenance of Adani Power Limited. An electrical engineer by profession, Mr. Nanda completed his BSC (Honors) from the then University College of Engineering – College Burla in the year 1980 which is presently known as Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). After passing out, he joined as Executive Trainee in NTPC. He was the second best trainee of his batch and was awarded a silver medal for the same.
During his of tenure over 35 years, he has led many Quality & Safety cultural turnarounds in various energy and emerging businesses, which includes World Class Manufacturing, Project Chetna, IMS, OHSMS, Safety Excellence Journey, etc. He has introduced many quality concepts to Adani like 5S, Six Sigma, QC etc. He also introduced Integrated Management System (IMS) and rolled out all required standards across the businesses.
In 2012, he joined Adani Power Limited, the largest private power producer of India with installed capacity of 13610 MW. As the COO – O&M, he looks after the seamless operations of the thermal generation at Seven plant locations across India, which includes Nine subcritical and fourteen supercritical technology units. As a part of this, he leads the operational excellence drive, O&M sustainability, personnel safety, training and development and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
He has been trained in the UK, US, France, Belgium and Switzerland in power plant operation and maintenance and has visited leading utilities in China, South Korea, South Africa. He has also presented technical as well as strategic papers at various national as well as international conferences. A true believer of 5S, he has been practicing the same at all the locations he has worked and recently he has been felicitated for his contribution to 5S at the National 5S Conclave by the Honorable Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. He is also a member of Institution of Engineers, India and Quality Circle Forum of India.

Rituraz Mehta is a senior corporate professional in the field of Quality, Safety and Business Excellence, with over 30 years of rich experience and exposure in major industrial business sectors like Automobile, Chemicals, Textile, Cement, Road, Water, Metal, Energy and Financial Services.
He is a Post-Graduate in Industrial Production Management from BITS Pillani and a Graduate in Chemical Engineering from NIT Raipur. He has also done a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety Management, along with IOSH and NEBOSH.
Being a Corporate Head at Adani, presently he is leading the cultural transformation drive in Quality, Safety and Operational Excellence area for energy businesses I,e, thermal power, transmission, and AEML businesses of Adani Group. Before joining Adani he has worked with renowned business brands in India like Aditya Birla Chemicals, Grasim, and Ultratech Cement. Having started his career as process engineer he has wide experience of various functions such as Change Management, Process, Operation, Safety and Business Excellence.
During his tenure, he has led many Quality & Safety cultural turnarounds in various energy and emerging businesses, which includes World Class Manufacturing, Project Chetna, IMS, OHSMS, Safety Excellence Journey, etc. He has introduced many quality concepts to Adani like 5S, Six Sigma, QC etc. He also introduced Integrated Management System (IMS) and rolled out all required standards across the businesses.
His efforts in quality initiatives brought many awards and accolades for Adani including many national & international recognitions like 5S/JUSE certification, RBNQA, British Council Safety Award, etc. In recent ICQCC 2021 Adani won the award for 2nd highest teams participation from any corporate house.
Few of his major contributions in the field of Quality Concepts includes, formation of over 70 Quality Circles, Completion of 35 no. of six sigma projects, development of over 200 Six Sigma Green Belts & Lead Auditors for various standards as a part of capacity building and sustenance. He has been associated with QCFI for over 9 years and actively involved in promoting Quality Initiatives. Under kind guidance of Sh. D K Srivastava, Executive Director-QCFI, he has co-authored the book titled ‘Lean Safety Circle’ published by QCFI.
He is Designated Member at National Safety Council and National Executive Council and Work Place Management of QCFI. He is certified Lead Assessor of CII Exim Bank Business Excellence Award, Indian Merchant Chamber –RBNQA, World Class Manufacturing, Frost n Sullivan Indian Manufacturing Excellence Award, and Work Placement Management System (5S)- QCFI. He is also invited as eminent speaker at various intuitions on safety & quality subjects.

Yogesh Patel
Head - Operations & Faculty
BE(Mech) from LD College Of Engineering passed out in 1986-87 and did his MBA(Fin) and PGDHRM from IGNOU in year 1996 and 2000 respectively.
Joined The Ahmedabad Electricity Company – Sabarmati Thermal Power Station in 1987 (currently known as Torrent Power Limited). Worked in Coal and Gas based Power Plant Project, Commissioning and Operation/ Maintenance of Turbines, Boilers and CHP main equipment & its auxiliaries.
Instrumental in implementation of SAP (Year 2009), IMS- Year 2011 (ISO 9001,14001,45001 & 50001), 5S Work Place Management (Year 2018) and BSC Certification (Year 2019). Represented the in many National level events of CII, QCFI etc. and achieved different awards. Retired as Manager (BE & Maintenance Planning) in Dec 2022 with @ 35 years of versatile experience in power plant.
At present associated with TUV NORD India as Technical Expert since March 2023 for Power Plant and process Industries for ISO audits (QMS-9001, EMS-14001, OHSMS-45001, EnMS-50001, SA 8000, ISMS-27001, BCMS-22301)
QCFI Ahmedabad Chapter as Head(Operations)- Conducting 5S Work Place Management Training sessions, 5S Implementation and hand holding, 5S audits etc. Also, involved in organising different events of QCFI Ahmedabad Chapter. Also, performed as Jury in QCFI and CII events related to 5S,Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.

A competent, committed and result oriented qualified Safety professional and having 30+ years of experience in the OHS Management out of total 31 year of industrial experience. He has diversified industrial experience in the sectors like, Chemical, Glass , White cement , Grey Cement and Power. He holds rich experience in Handling assignment like risk assessment, Emergency Management, Training,
designing and developing safety systems in industry with strong team management and innovative strategies.
He joined Corporate Office of Adani Power Ltd. Ahmedabad in May 2019 as Associate General Manager Fire & Safety. He was one of the leads in institutionalizing Safety check and assurance system from all O&M sites and supported Safety system incorporation in Thermal Project activities. He was lead in
developing three numbers of safety park on various themes and models to train the society and employees as well. He delivered many safety talks on various subjects on industrial safety in various work shops organized by Dy. Chief inspector factories and boilers. He attended many professional National e,
International seminars, conferences during his professional career.

Anil Datar

Anil is BE (Fire Engineering - 6th Batch) with has done his Disaster Management from IGNOU. He is OHSAS 18001 Certified Lead Auditor. Anil is has an overall 36+ years of hands-on work experience in Chemical & Power Plants. He possesses an extensive knowledge and skill in establishing Safety culture, strategies and performance monitoring at largest private sector like Adani Power Ltd.
He has demonstrated competencies in managing Health & Safety, Accident and other Safety domains in conformance with standards. He has varied experience in establishing Workplace, Process and Fire Safety Management systems especially in O & M. Handled safely many startups & shutdowns and managing Contactors Safety. He has expertise in site safety principles, safety audits, fire prevention of company activities, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, applicable to high-risk construction activities to recommend and implement methods to resolve critical safety problems. He poses professional excellence in planning, designing and implementing comprehensive fire & safety management systems to prevent incidences of fire and minimize consequential losses in accidents/fire. He has proven ability to manage human and material resources towards the achievement of stated objectives, to plan and manage work programs and to lead, motivate and provide effective guidance to a team of professional and support staff. He is responsible for ensuring HSE plans and its compliance specially for Process Safety Management, barriers healthiness, HSE objectives, trainings, Subcommittee’s performance monitoring. Mr. Sharad Gupta, Graduate in Science, post graduate in HR management, & Production Management and Master in Business Administration. Heading Change Management Cell, having 37 years of experience In Birla White a unit of UltraTech Cement Limited and business of Aditya Birla Group. He worked in the various field of Quality Assurance, Production Process Control & manufacturing excellence.
Qualified assessors on business and manufacturing excellence and conducted assessment in Aditya Birla Business Units across globe.
A lead auditor for ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and coordinated the various external system audit for compliance of the system.
Qualified in application of Six Sigma tools in various manufacturing process and proficiency in use of Minitab software for data analysis.

Kaushik Purohit

Self-motivated professional with over 30+ years of diversified industrial experience in the sectors like, Chemical, Heavy Engineering, Refinery and Power. Holds rich experience in different professional fields like, Information Management, Knowledge Management, Documentation, Learning & Development, and Business Excellence. Handles all assignment with strong team management and innovative strategies.
Joined Corporate Office of Adani Power Ltd., Ahmedabad in May 2012 as Manager-L&D. He was one of the leads in institutionalizing technical training department to ‘Adani Power Training & Research Institute (APTRI) in 2013, which reported revenue of over 5Cr. that time. Considering these achievements at APTRI, in 2020 he was given an important assignment under business excellence function. Now He is corporate lead-APL for ‘Four Pillars of Operational Excellence i.e. IMS, 5S, LSS, & QC and also Group Lead for ‘Adani Workplace Management System (AWMS).
Prior to Adani he worked with Learning Centre, Reliance Industries Limited, Jamnagar, for 12 years, where he was leading implementation of innovative learning practices and managing of central library. Before Reliance he worked with diversified companies, L&T, Surat, UPL- Ankleshwar etc.
Led over 200+ teams to many professional national & International seminars, conferences with winning of highest-level recognitions. Published over 8 articles/papers in regional, and national level publications

Sanjiv Kaushesh

He has Over 27 years experience in manufacturing, renewables Solar & Wind Infrastructure, Energy, IT enabled services, utilities, telecom, MSW, Transport domains for institutionalizing Business Excellence, Innovations, Business transformation, Change Management, Sustainability, Quality.
He is currently Heading Business Excellence & Sustainability for Adani Group’s RMRW Business. Previously worked with ISPAT Group, Reliance industries Ltd. Suzlon Energy, Essel Infra projects & Tech Mahindra Ltd. He has also handled PMO and Commercial Operations for Utilizes in previous roles.
Sanjiv holds BE in Electronics & Telecom with MBA in Marketing. Has attended Sr Management Program from IIM – Ahmedabad & Entrepreneurial Leadership Program from EDII – Ahmedabad. Sanjiv is a certified Assessor for Malcom Baldrige & EFQM Business Excellence Model., He is certified Six Sigma Master Bleck Belt & He has keen interest in Project & Program management and is a certified PMP® (PMI-USA) & PRINCE 2 ® professional.
His area of expertise include Institutionalizing Business Excellence, Digital Transformation, Low-Cost Automation Capability Building programs for quality tools & methodologies.
